Tax Refund Service for Hong Kong Air Passenger

Access the APDT refund application platform.

Select your arrival method, upload the required documents and choose your refund method.

Choose your refund method.

Once you are in the restricted area of the airport, press "Submit" and verify your identity with facial recognition.

Once your application is approved, refund will be made through your selected refund method.

For Cash refund Method, Head to the designated Global Exchange counter and present your QR code to collect your refund in cash.

What is the APDT?

The Air Passenger Departure Tax applies to passengers aged 12 and above who depart Hong Kong by air.

Tax amount

The rate is HK$120 per passenger for tickets purchased before 1 October 2025, and HK$200 for tickets purchased on or after that date.

Who can apply for a refund?

Only passengers who meet the exemption criteria established by the Hong Kong authorities may apply for a refund.

Application deadline

You have 28 calendar days from your departure flight to apply for your APDT refund. Late applications will not be accepted.
